Branch Foreman

The Auckland Branch Foreman is responsible for the efficient running of the Auckland Service Department. This includes the workshop based Technicians and road based Technicians. The role is responsible for day to day planning and supervision of all Service and Repair work, and responsible to see that it is completed in the most efficient, professional, and cost effective manner. The Auckland Branch Foreman is to assist the Auckland Branch Manager to achieve the Branch Golden Rules and Branch Profit and Loss targets.

About this position

Key accountabilities of the role:

  • Manage Technician start and finish times, productivity and attendance;
  • To monitor staff and vehicle presentation so Centra is viewed as a professional in the marketplace;
  • To ensure that Technicians, Suppliers and all other Centra staff working within the Auckland workshop or yard carry out duties in a safe and courteous manner. This includes wearing the supplied Personal Protective Equipment;
  • To plan all Technicians work ahead of time and communicate this to achieve best efficiency of the resource;
  • To maintain regular communication with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • To oversee/monitor progress of all pre-delivery work to ensure it is completed within the set timeframe and to a new vehicle standard;
  • To oversee/monitor all work externally and internally to ensure it is completed within an industry acceptable time and to the required standard;
  • To oversee out “pre and post” work checks of forklifts entering/leaving the workshop to ensure accuracy, cleanliness and completeness.
  • Assist Technicians in troubleshooting where necessary;
  • Ensure inbound/outbound rental inspections are completed by workshop staff in time and completed accurately;
  • Assist with quoting customers where necessary;
  • Assist with creating purchase orders for outwork where required;
  • Stock take and order minimal workshop supplies as necessary;
  • Report any non-conformance to your branch manager and/or senior management as required;
