Mobile Service Technician – Hamilton & Waikato

Centra Forklifts (NZ) Ltd is the New Zealand distributor for Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks and operates business units in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North and Christchurch.
Centra is a family-owned New Zealand business and maintains a wide range of equipment including petrol/LPG, diesel and battery electric machines, and also a large forklift rental fleet.
About the role:
Due to an increased demand in the Hamilton and Waikato area, we require your versatile mobile forklift technical skills to work on small and large IC and electric machines. You will work primarily at customer sites, and also at our Hamilton based workshop.
No two days will be the same. You will enjoy the work on Mitsubishi forklifts, a tier-one, award winning international brand, and contribute to our ongoing team success, as well as exceeding our customer’s requirements. Come and join our friendly and professional team.
Key responsibilities:
Maintain and repair a range of light and heavy forklift trucks.
Detecting and diagnosing faults on IC and electric forklifts.
Dismantling, removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and subsequent reassembly of same.
Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed, together with assistance of computers.
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
Repairs on customer sites or at our workshop, as required.
On-line job processing direct into our state-of-the-art field service module.
On-line training and personal development is available through the Mitsubishi training programme.
Key requirements:
The ability to work within a small team.
The ability to work remotely on customers sites, unsupervised.
3 years minimum technical, mechanical experience.
A strong electrical background will influence your hourly rate.
A ‘can do’ attitude with a ‘no problem’ approach.
Attention to detail, in particular over personal image and presentation.
Reliable, trustworthy, energetic, self-motivated.
The role is permanent and 40 hours a week, and there is an opportunity for extra time, depending on our workload. The pay rate range is depending upon your skills and experience. (Pay rate range: $41.00 – $45.00)
